Tough game to watch, full of mistakes and sputtering just like usual. But somehow they were able to snatch victory. I'm upset at Mike White. Kid has the potential to run drives like that all game long, but settled into monotony instead and forced coach to put the freshman in instead. I'd hope it would wake him up, but don't have a lot of confidence.

First, that isn't going to happen.  Second, think she is retiring next year.

From what I've seen, White can light it up against the worst of the worst, but a competent team gives him troubles. Lots of that is not helped by the O-Line and receivers.

 

Do I think White or Bench should have started this game? Absolutely! There was a great chance either would be able to perform well last night and we saw that was true. I think if White starts we get the kind of blow out win the team and the fans needed. Flowers and the 16 plays over and over just showed even a bad team can stop a limited offense. I can understand that SMU being bad it also gives Flowers the best shot to excel but it was clear well before Taggart made the change we needed a change.

I'm not particularly upset at White, Bench or Flowers. They are who they are. I'm upset at Taggart who clearly can't manage talent and find a way to maximize the different potential of each player.

I'm done putting money in to a crap program

I sent an email earlier this week letting him know that we will not support this football program any longer with Taggart there.  We have 4 tickets and have had since day 1

Very sad and by all means you have to do what you feel is best. I believe you support a program not a coach. I personally was mad when they fired CJL but I support USF. I didn't care for CSH but I support my team. Harlan has to look at ticket sales and fan base but ultimately he doesn't make that decision because you abandon your seats. I had a conversation with him earlier this year during the Uconn game. He promised a group of us he would "get football right." Maybe that means a new coach and maybe it doesn't but most of you screamed for DW to be fired. Well there is a new man in town and IMHO you need to give him the benefit of the doubt right now and support his vision. Hope you reconsider your decisions. We need the die hards there in the stands.

We didn't like when they fired CJL either. We stayed through CSH but enough is enough. We are not young people who can keep putting almost 2 grand into the program year after year for no enjoyment when my husband is on social security

If you can stay through DW then you can stay through anything. There are high school athletic departments in Tampa better run than DW organization.

 

I don't think anyone needs to send e-mails. Harlan sees gate counts. Firing Taggart now would be a huge mistake (and frankly so would our miniscule remaining fan base pushing hard for his removal). Any coach we would consider hiring needs to feel confident he will be given a fair chance to make the necessary adjustments and right the ship. If they think two rough seasons (with improvement shown in season 2) would put there job in jeopardy the pool of available coaches would be small.
