We held them 17 points below their season average. That's a positive.

Amazingly the issues on offense seemed to me to be going away from the running game. Not a whole lot of Swanson and mack in the second half. Of course the persistent drops don't help.

Why can we not put a whole game together?

Why can we not put a whole game together?

This team consistently fades in the second half. The point of having a lead at the half is to build on it, not sit on it. Drops are a big problem. The cumulative difference between a running game that consistently picks up 3 yards at least and drops is time for your defense to recover (and keep the other team's star QB off the field).

Another first for the Taggart era. A loss to ECU. Never lost to them before

To be fair, has ECU ever had an offense like this one and been ranked #19 before?
We beat them with Pat Julmiste at qb
We have beaten ranked tems befote

Those were different teams. I'm disappointed we lost, but... They're a better team than us right now. No shame in that.

This. Perspective is needed here folks.

I mean, I hear that, GA...but you have to admit this was our game to lose in the second half.

It was.  I blame the offense, not the defense.

This game went from Homecoming MIracle on 34th St. to Homecoming Nightmare on Elm Street(one of the bad sequels, not the good first one) so quickly.

Offense in the 2nd half blew the first two possessions with penalties after getting into points range and got worse after that. The defense, which shouldn't have been tired in the 3rd quarter just let them march at will down the field, even after they helped us out by getting themselves into a 1st and 30 at their 10 yard line. 2 plays later they have a first down and I feel that was the moment the game was over.

I see no evidence Taggart and crew can adapt to a team once the opposition figures us out. My expectations for the season have dwindled, I only want one thing at this point. To find out what Bench did to Taggart. I have a suspicion he mouthed off about the fact Taggart's game plan is not working.

I also want to know what Bench did to Taggart, I doubt if we will ever know.

ECU is really good I watched them rock a couple teams on bored Saturdays.

Be careful with that line of reasoning.  It is common knowledge on TBP that we are only losing because our coaching staff is not allowing us to win.  This would hold true even if we were playing FSU or Miss. State.
