The bigger question is, why is he bothering tweeting out the winner of a QB competition at a school that just went 2-10? Have we not fallen far enough for him to stop bothering with us? Clearly, the fact that he is still obsessed with us means we're going to the big time sooner than later.

Do you think he went from fired TBO beat writer to ESPN newsbreaker because he charmed Colby Erskin and wrote Miller's script? Not enough. There's something else there that leads to him having all the breaking news. When he was an embarassed and failing beat writer he was wrong on most all of his breaking news. After the orchestrated fall of his arch-enemy CJL he became a newshound. Not a coincidence. This has been stated for years.

I suspect he has had a source for years, either remembers them at Christmas or treats them to Mons every so often.

It took only some false reporting and some unprofessional behavior, both of which it was easier for him to accomplish when not attached to TBO.
