Ricky, part of that was the amount of soft zone Houston played. The teams that played man or mixed up coverages took away that first read throw.

You are correct as well.  But look at games after that and you won't see many 3 step drops with quick passes.  Our O-line couldn't block and the play calling never adjusted for that.  Most pass plays were 5 and 7 except for that game.

Mike's best game was his first when they limited the play book and threw a lot of quick passes.  For some reason the coaching staff went away from that afterwards and opened up the play book and he struggled just as much or more than Bench.  He had a 3 - 1 ratio of INTs to TDs.  Having said that, this was a very close competition this year and should Coach T need to make a change we'll have a capable QB coming in.  Not saying the offense will put up 28/game but it should be much better than last year.  The new OC has been calling plays all year so far.  If that continues we'll be OK.  If you see Coach T calling the plays prepare for a repeat of last year.

CousinRicky, what gives you any indication that Taggart is going to abdicate play-calling duty to Coach Wulff this year? From what I've understood Taggart will continue calling plays, much like last year.

Everyone needs to remember that Bench is one snap away from leading this team. We saw how long Floyd lasted last yr.

My fear is that MW is a practice QB and Steven might be more 0f a gameday guy.

You do realize that Mike White started games last season and made a decent account of himself, right?

Including keeping us within 3 pts of UCF at their best with us at our worst. I still feel we got robbed that Houston game. It seems that on top of being at our worst, every break seemed to go the other way. It would be nice to have at least half the breaks go our way this year.

We were robbed on a couple of plays...

but the 150 yards of false starts REALLY hurt us...

The offensive pass interference call is the one that stung.

He hasn't called a play yet this year from what I've been told.

I simply suggest that you check with someone in the huddle on the offensive side of the ball on how many meetings Coach T attends for the offense and the QBs.

Didn't he publicly state he didn't go to those last year despite calling the plays?

Who cares how many meetings he goes to?

CWT is the "CEO" of the football team ... our CEO at my company rarely attends our sales meetings - that is the sales/operations manager's job to lead that.

I do guarantee, though, that our CEO sits down our operations manager to dictate what he wants covered in that meeting.

I'm sure CWT is doing the same thing with the coordinators and/or position coaches.  Therefore, since the meetings are about what CWT wants them to be about, no reason for him to attend.
