merge a thread titled Mike White is the QB into a conversation/poll of guesses on who will be the qb? Seems odd.

Starting qb hasn't been announced yet. Still a conversation of guesses ....

ehhh he is usually reliable with his reports

Regardless... I think, based on last season... mike deserves to start.

He was a twig and clearly w a st ready but performed better than Bench. Now he's put on 30 lbs. I expect him to continue his growth.

I got a pop up from the ESPN College Football app on my iDevices 2 hours ago. The announcement goes to the McMurphy write up. I wonder if for breaking news, and he being in Tampa, McMurphy being with ESPN gets the breaking news as part of the tv contract.

Everyone needs to remember that Bench is one snap away from leading this team. We saw how long Floyd lasted last yr.

My fear is that MW is a practice QB and Steven might be more 0f a gameday guy.

You do realize that Mike White started games last season and made a decent account of himself, right?

You do realize that Mike White started games last season and made a decent account of himself, right?

 

 

Mike's best game was his first when they limited the play book and threw a lot of quick passes.  For some reason the coaching staff went away from that afterwards and opened up the play book and he struggled just as much or more than Bench.  He had a 3 - 1 ratio of INTs to TDs.  Having said that, this was a very close competition this year and should Coach T need to make a change we'll have a capable QB coming in.  Not saying the offense will put up 28/game but it should be much better than last year.  The new OC has been calling plays all year so far.  If that continues we'll be OK.  If you see Coach T calling the plays prepare for a repeat of last year.

Ricky, part of that was the amount of soft zone Houston played. The teams that played man or mixed up coverages took away that first read throw.
