I envision us struggling (and maybe even dropping the ball) on the first few games.

 

 

We will show far more potential than last season; but the hard-hitters do not want to lose to a team that was 2-10 the previous season. 

What hard hitters?  Cincy? Well they lost to us last year... Ucif? Should have beaten them actually and they still haven't found a QB to replace Bortles.  Maryland? The were not that good last year.  NC State? 3-9... not too much better than us.  Houston?  Almost beat them too.  The only team you could call a "Hard-Hitter" is Wisconsin.  Those other teams are very average.  So I'm buying... we have a schedule full of spread teams and one power team.  Our offensive and defensive systems are kryptonite for the spread.  Every game we were in and our wins were against teams that were running the spread.  This year we'll be big enough to be a power running team.  Nobody on our schedule that we can't beat.  Nobody wants to lose to any team so saying they don't want to lose against a team that went 2-10 last season means nothing really.  If anything, they are inclined to overlook us.  If that happens, we'll pull off a big  upset early in the season.  I like us to open the season 4-0 or 3-1 and go from there.  I think that is very doable. 

I don't think there's anyone here that would have thought McNoose wasn't "doable". Problem was, potential ≠ performance and we didn't do. So although I like your realistic comments (no really, well said), I need to see the team actually prove it out on the field before I lay any (figurative) cash on the table.
