Bummer.  Even if you are stone sober, it isn't smart driving around Tampa streets at 3:40 in the morning on a weekend.

Eh, Hyde Park Cafe was my old stomping ground (I missed Sasha last night dammit) and always left after 3am. The local. LEOs are definitely looking for suspicious stuff but it's easy to avoid. Only pulled once for supposedly not stopping at a stop sign for long enough. They were looking for DUI, I gladly let them down in their efforts and was on my merry way. As I got older, I learned to leave earlier, and had a bartender friend I could BS with until it was dead outside.

Hope coach was not drunk. Great recruiter, but not worth keeping if he is being a tard off the field. Not a great example obvs

Kudos to Coach for skirting the law. I hope he shares his knowledge with his teenage players so they don't get suspended or anything tragic like missing a game or practice during their time at USF.

Please don't confuse my statement with condoning what he did. Just making a statement as to how "the system" works. His actions definitely warrant disciplinary actions by the University

Innocent until proven guilty.  Coach hasn't been convicted yet of anything...just charged.  He may or may not end up with dui conviction or he may even end up with a reduced charge after blowing about $10,000 with an attorney.

 

Regardless, driving while drinking is so stupid.  If one just gets tagged with just a misdemeanor for driving drunk, be thankful.  If you clip someone while driving drunk and seriously injure someone of kill someone...you are looking at time in a Florida state prison...or as a minimum, a felony that makes it almost impossible to get a decent job, and it can wipe you out financially. or too you can end up killing or hurting yourself in a collision driving drunk.  Coach is maybe lucky he got stopped when he was by cops.

SPEEDING at 3am is stupid.

But isn't it safer and more appropriate.... there are less cars on the road, so the conditions are more favorable.... but you'll be more easily singled out by cops.

 

He must have left the bars at 3... been stopped... then arrested at 3:40.....  

 

No, he broke at least one law and got caught. Well, two laws... one was speeding, the other was common sense. Both could end up being very expensive.
