Translation here may be that Rice called and turned it down, so USF pulled a technicality and termed it not an official offer. Or I suppose the whole thing may be a lie and USF is golden (see, I'm learning!).

I think going to bed and just letting this play out will give most here another 2-3 years on their life. This **** isn't worth the stress or thought anymore. USF is gonna do what USF does, and hopefully there will at least be SOME sort of coach so I can at least go to some games next year.

The UNLV forum is pretty funny.  The majority of people are thrilled at the prospect of him leaving, yet are extremely worried about losing a top 10 recruiting class.   I don't care how lame he is as a coach, if the guy is going to pull in 3 of the top 38 recruits in the country, then you should stick with him.   UNLV isn't going to win a national title regardless.   You are much better off keeping that insanely good class, and just let Rice build his team.   We should send Stan Heath over there for 7 years and see how they feel about their situation by the end of that.
