“It’s hard to tolerate mediocrity,” Genshaft said. “Especially with a university that’s on the move and everything else is moving forward except for our revenue sports.

Then why continue to keep Doug on payroll? Look where he left the revenue sports. It's hard to take her seriously any more.

Auburn is harder to win at than USF?

Yes sir it is. Right now it's not even that close. It comes back to recruiting. Tony Barbee was not a good recruiter, he's a great recruiter, but the state of Alabama is not nearly as stocked with basketball talent as the state of Florida. At Auburn you have to get lucky with JC players and talent transferring in from another school with the rare occasional talent from HS. USF was that way but not any more as the surrounding HS talent is tremendous. Arguably the best prospect in the 2016 class plays in Tampa.
Is he the 6' 10' sophomore at Tampa Prep? Can't remember his name.

@JJohnstonTBO: New #USF AD Mark Harlan was asked about men's hoops. Won't rush in. Will study program. Wants to "do the right thing." USF start: April 7.

Sounds like coach Heath has one more season.

Just how long do you think Harlan needs to study the program? The answer is not long and in fact if he hasn't already gotten all the info he needs it would surprise me. Also who's to say that Heath's future is entirely up to Harlan anyway. There is some very unhappy people working for and supporting USF about the pain inducing performance of the men's basketball team 6 of the 7 seasons under Heath. Maybe that's why Greenshaft shocking revealed her thoughts about USF men basketball at a press conference introducing the new AD. It wasn't very professional of the school president, but she might be feeling some pressure about her own job too.

Do you really believe Genshaft's job is even marginally in jeopardy over the basketball team?

Hoping Coach Heath gets another season because he deserves that at least.

Yes, as long as it's with another team.

Heath has a very close relationship with this kid, but do we really expect a top 10 player to come to USF? IF we were to ever have a small shot it would be with Heath. He is going to play for one of the bluebloods IMO

because he is under contract and if we fire him we'd still have to pay him. might as well keep him so he can "earn" that money

You give yourself a chance with the right coach. Heath can't get him because he loses to much. Durham would be interested in playing for USF and the right salesman can get him.
