Very happy for Josh in his first game. Stan should be extremely proud of the way his son played.

Stan the father should be very proud.

Stan the coach should explain why we played 5 games with no point guard.

I agree, even if AC comes back, Josh should be the backup with Allen moving and staying at the 2 spot.

I am betting AC gets a redshirt

See what point guard play does in college hoops.  the reason he didn't play 5 games is because he wanted to  red shirt him.  Now that it looks like AC will redshirt he should get more minutes

Stan Heath has brought in some talent to USF. When they are on, this team is fun to watch. John EgBunu's game kind of reminds me of  Shaq. Just need to keep on feeding him the passes high above the rim.  Hoping Musa's is out of the 3 pt slump with those two big 3's tonight. USF needs that deep threat shooter to give our big guys some room. SMU will be a very tough test.

Just finished watching the game and two things stood out to me. 1) Josh Heath with what he did this game. The asst were impressive but the most impressive thing he did was free Corey Allen who had been locked up in PG prison since Collins went down. Allen was great at PG starting the season, but clearly he put to much pressure on himself to be someone or something he is not. Coach Heath deserves some of the blame for that. Allen plays great one way and way only and with Josh able to handle the PG spot well, this allowed Allen to play his game. His confidence carried over even when he was back at PG.

2) The offense at times looked very good, like what they were suppose to look like after all we heard in the preseason and saw early on in the season. Musa Aleem firing away and hitting a couple was good to see too. We saw solid screening and back door cuts that we haven't seen from a Stan Heath team is some time. Ball movement for the most part was much better, very pleasing to see.

Some improving has to be the timing of entering the post pass when the Big Men flash to the post. Also our big guys have to do a better job of passing out of double teams, has been a problem all season.

Now going into this game it was a battle of the 2 worse teams in the confidence so far. The positives I saw tonight need to been seen against a little better competition. These next 6 games be the deciding factor of where USF basketball is at this season.

No way Collins gets a redshirt, and how desperate has the board become that we think a guy with 2 points and 5 assists is somehow going to turn the season around. This is probably the crowd that thought Mike White was going to be better then Grothe, Daniels and Blackwell.

Not sure about turn the season around but the offense looked better. Admittedly against the worst team in the aac.

Also Allen clearly played better than he has since AC went down. Some small things.

I didn't think we would win a game until February.

I still don't see us to be better than .500 team this year. Too much reliance on Freshman for this year, but if we can find a scorer among the bunch (is it too much to ask for 2) the future of this team is looking pretty bright. Finally.

Still don't want to get sucked into any hopes or expectations. We haven't beaten a good team yet.

Where oh where is the Hawkins we saw last year?

Who said he was going to turn the season around.  It just shows how important point gurad play is.  Also how valuable AC is even at 60%.  What makes you think he won't get a redshirt.

There is only one player in the conference averaging more than five assists per game, and only five other guys averaging more than four per game. You scoff at five assists (off the bench, no less) like it's nothing - it shows you don't actually follow the sport.

I haven't seen anyone say he's going to "turn the season around" - nice strawman. That doesn't mean he isn't worth getting excited about.

Also just as important NO Turnovers

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
