I would have to agree with you on lowering the boom on a cornerback and getting an extra yard or two - but also making someone pay on defense for all the times they make our receivers pay.

I said the same thing in the in game thread. I get the QB running out so he doesn't take a hit, but I expect our backs to play physically.

 when I coached kids I taught all rbs finish your run!!!!!!

RBs have limited shelf lives; there's no need to take unnecessary punishment. If hitting a guy will get you the first down, or give you the possibility of breaking the run, then you do it, but Tice had 4 guys on him. If he ran over the DB, someone else would have taken him down.

 

No point in risking the injury just to prove you are a tough guy and gain one extra yard. Good, smart move by Tice. Protect your body. We need it.

We're down two RBs already.  I have no problem with this.
