Mike White is starting against Houston

The thing with Bench is that he is better runner than White, so I can see CWT bringing him in for certain situations.

Eveld has a longer run than him this year. he also has more total yards rushing.

no I wasn't. those are his exact rushing numbers.

 

and no I wouldn't say that but Eveld does have more rushing yards this year and a longer carry.

 

honestly I'm done with this entire eveld vs bench argument.

 

All I've ever said was that neither were going to be a solution to our problem.

 

not sure why some of you want to argue bench > eveld when the numbers clearly show they are both about even and both well below average.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that it is quite possible that CWT has been planning to put White in there for a while, but, he wanted to wait until Shaw was back to give him the best chance for success. I don't think that this decision was based on Eveld getting hurt or Bench throwing an INT. My guess is that it's been in the works for a while. If CWT was intent on keeping the RS in tact, White would have been getting very few reps in practice and there is no way he'd be ready, but, I think they have been preparing for this and the timing is right with Shaw coming back.

Coach T hinted at this a few weeks ago he said something along the lines of "Mike White is making it hard for me to not play him with the way he's been practicing ' in a post practice interview.

Let all the freshman get their reps in who are already currently playing. We've got what...9 or more now in the regular rotation? If that doesn't tell you about the lack of talent Skip left us with, nothing does.

 

Mike White looks great on tape, and it's been said before many times that he's looked great in practice. I've seen him in a few practice clips where he's thrown some really nice passes, and took off on a couple of long runs. There are freshmen QB's all over that are taking the reigns this year, if White is the man for the job...let him take it and run with it. I believe on the talk show yesterday that Coach T said he's been thinking about playing him for the last 3 weeks or so.

 

If he can just be serviceable enough for the opposing D to respect the pass, our offense will open up. Hope Shaw and White can be the combo we are looking for.

I will say this though, now that you've pulled this kids redshirt...you'd better stick with him for the rest of the year. Let him take his lumps and make his mistakes now.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that it is quite possible that CWT has been planning to put White in there for a while, but, he wanted to wait until Shaw was back to give him the best chance for success. I don't think that this decision was based on Eveld getting hurt or Bench throwing an INT. My guess is that it's been in the works for a while. Almost thought they would at UConn. You could sense the excitement in jim louk's voice when he thought White was in the game.

You must be a magician in real life because your use of the misdirection is superb .... YOU were the one to bring Eveld into this conversation ... a conversation started because you ignorantly tried to argue that Bench, a dual threat qb, wasn't a better runner than White, who had negative rushing yards for his hs career.
