Johnny Manziel red shirted behind an NFL QB and another QB. Like I said if we had depth then by all means red shirt him.

The depth thing works both ways. With our putrid history of building depth at that position, you don't burn the redshirt of your current probable starter in 2017 until you, at the very least, have another potential starter somewhere in the mix. Right now we got nothing in that regard unless you count Deiondre Porter ...

you're calling white our probable starter for 2017?wow

I remember when the yahoos on this board wanted Bj benched for Floyd. I guess the guy on the bench is always going to be our savior.

good thing we get Floyd that extra year because we red shirted him.

Currently, yes. Name another even remotely possible starter right now?

he should sit entire year

and compete next year

coach t should bring in top juco qb and a top freshman qb in offseason

This. But much easier said than done.

Seriously, if you're a top QB, would you want to come here?

If you're a bad QB, would you want to either?

Just trying to figure out if JUCO players hurt or help depth over the long run. You have a player come in for as little as a year. Do they depend on them too much?

Juco players are great band aids for teams that need help immediately in one or two areas. We need so much help that it may not be worth it. Until the offensive line is upgraded it won't matter who is back there

hahahahah  Bull94 - I also remember those wanting BJ benched and trashing him all the time.  Then he gets hurt and how did it go for the Bulls ?

All I have seen so far this year is very very poor QB play with Bench looking a little better then the other two.  Our O line isn't going to mysteriously get much better in a year or two so I say throw Mike in after the Miami game if he is your best.  Lots of freshman play QB in D-1 football.  It may also teach him the importance of getting rid of the ball quickly :)  I think Bridgewater started as a freshman and look at him now.

As far as depth is concerned I think you have already seen our three top back-ups.

no need to play this kid this year

If the freshman were the best they'd be on the field now.

EDIT:  Redshirts are may be the exception.

Our would be true freshman starter is on the bench at UCLA.

Even if he came here, I don't think he'd be doing anymore than White is at this point.

Considering his accomplishments and what the rest have done, I would bet he'd be in serious contention.

What accomplishments? He was a bad QB on a bad HS team.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
