Ah, yes... Bobby Petrino.  Now there's a great role model for Mr. Dyer.

I move the possibility of Dyer coming to USF to 90%!

1) Greg's article clearly shows that there's strong interest on Dyer's side of coming to USF -after the visit.

2) With CWT talking to Fitz Hill, a college president, I think this will remove USF's  worries.

3) USF needs a RB and Michael knows he can start here: the two sides need each other.

4) This articles shows that there are people behind Dyer and it's not just an act:

I think it's USF's decision and I think it's going to be a YES.

GO BULLS!

Things are pretty quiet surrounding Dyer.

Quote (July 5th):

At this point, it doesn’t appear that Louisville is pursuing Dyer anymore, which may end up being a good thing. He has quite a bit of baggage that could serve as a distraction. However, being a part of the type of program that Charlie Strong is running here at Louisville may be exactly what Dyer needs.

I hope and pray he doesn't end up a Card.

Maybe I'm naive, but what exactly is the risk in bringing him in? He does anything dumb, fails a drug test, he's out.

He adds A LOT more than he can detract from this team

What's the risk?

How about something like this:

He takes a bunch of the guys on the team out. Nobody has a valid driver's license (something that plagues our players a lot). They get pulled over and there's a gun inside the car. Oh, there's also some grass.

It hits the papers and four guys are suspened, all starters. USF looks really stupid for taking a chance on him.

-----------------------

BUT I don't think it will be like that if he comes to USF. I've been following and I think he's a good guy; I think he's learned his lesson. Plus, he's got people behind him now. If he were on his own, no way I'd bring him aboard.

Good reporting, indeed:  "Dyer recently received his masters degree from Arkansas Baptist College."  Skip Louisville, Mr. Dyer...run with the Bulls!

Well we're in agreement on the last part for sure.

I get your hypothetical but still think it's worth the risk. I mean those guys would probably get in trouble one way or another if they're rolling with a guy with weed and guns in the car. More likely if he does something wrong it'll just get him kicked off alone and we just say goodbye, nice knowing you. Don't think it's a black eye. No more than playing in the AAC at least.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
