Isn't Tommie Frazier his cousin? I figured he was Nebraska bound from the get go and USF was a place holder until his offer came through (which it did after a visit the USF staff asked him not to take).

Not according to those that want to blame Holtz for everything including the plague and locust infestation.
I don't recall anyone blaming Skip for the plague or locusts. I think this must be more exageration.

Does the fact Holtz didn't start the plague or initiate a locust swarm free him of responsibility for the things he actually did?

Are we playing games today?

Clearly Holtz is blamed for all kinds of things that he had no control over.  It is a simple and obvious point, made by people other than me in this thread.

Now, now, gentlemen. Alleging that someone would not transfer here, much less not want to initially forego Nebraska for U of SF is borderline negativity.

And that, friends...is solely my domain

+1. Also blatantly ignored for anything positive he did.

I can just see it now:

"So what exactly would you say ... ya do here? Hmm?"

"Well, my job is to take the snap from the center and deliver the ball to the QB."

"Hmm ... Well, why can't the QB just take the snap directly from the center himself?"

"I'm a ball handling person ... Can't you guys see that? What is wrong with you people? I have ball handling skills!"

:D

One of the great all-time movies!

I even use this scene in class - usually when doing HR.

I use the interview scene from Step Brothers when teaching HR...I wish.

Maybe I'm just too old, but I don't find Will Ferrell funny, just annoying. I just don't get his humor.

I've said for a long time that Will Ferrell is at his best in supporting roles ONLY.  Anchorman was pretty funny, an exception to the rule, but think about Zoolander, Wedding Crashers, Old School ... all great comedies where Will Ferrell added a TON to the laughs, mostly because the spotlight was on him only for a bit.

His comedy has a shelf life in movies, and it's FAR shorter than 2 hours.

Do you know exactly and definitively what happened between Carnes and Holtz?  Do tell.

But it may as well be about global warming with the yarns being spun about Skip choosing Gunsby OVER Carnes .... He chose Gunsby over no quarterback recruited... which was still a bad move in hindsight.

He chose Floyd over no QB as well. The jury is still out on that one.
