Just a minute there!!

You forgot the Javelin/ AMX, one of the hottest muscle cars of all time - AND the first one to be used as a cop car.

I didn't forget the Javlin. It was a cool car. And I owned a Hornet with a small block V8 that was pretty fast. But most people don't remember those cars, they remember the crappy ones, the Moon Mobile. It was in Wayne's World for a reason, it generates laughs. I'll never forget how my parents almost bought one. Oh, and I owned a Gremin too. Man, it was hard to make out in that POS. lol.

I think they should open it up to the conference members fans and alumni for input in an open format. But hey, who am I?

I like the way you think, and the conference would be dumb to pass this up. The former SIAC has a few national championships under its belt and had a storied history in college sports.

I would suggest though dropping "Intercollegiate" from the title and just calling the conference the Southern Athletic Association (SAC).

Lets not kid ourselves here... UConn and Natti, the lone Yankee schools in the conference besides Temple, will somehow find a way out, and once they are gone the entire conference membership will be located in the South, with the exception of Temple.

You know...out of all the goofiness out there...I really do think the SAA sounds reasonable.

I don't know about the Southern Athletic Conference...SAC...just too easy to kick. Not that

anyone want's their SAC kicked, but you know...

Touche and good point.

I like the sound of SAA... I also liked the sound of the Dixie Athletic Conference (DAC), and Gulf Coast Conference (GCC). Right now my hackles are all up in a tizzy about which new stupid name the conference will select. A12 was bad, but is far from the worst name they could have chosen.

I think I might draft up a letter and send it out to the conference... at least I can say that I did everything possible to lobby my conference name choices.

I fear that the conference will just come up with another CUSA 2.0 name and run with it, and I also fear that UConn and Natti will try to throw their weight around to get a name that they like and fits them, vs. a name that actually fits the demographics of the conference.

Oh well in any event this realignment crap really helps to kill the off-season.

I am sure that the other 2 remaining Old Big East schools would be less than thrilled with "south" in the name.

Then you shoulda had one of the old Rambler Americans. The front seatback folded down flat into the rear legroom space. Short of a shagginwagon, that was the best makeout care EVER.

Another one we forgot was the old Marlin. Man those were sweet (for a full-size sports car)

Never owned one of the Marlins, but it reminds me of the 67 Charger, which was another awesome makeout car. Ahhh, the memories!!!

I am guessing you already know this, but there already is a Southern Conference.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
