Oh, no, quite far from negative! Having followed USF sports - live and in person for twenty-two years - I consider myself to be pretty well balanced. I try to manage my expectations and avoid the unrealistic highs and suicide watch lows (which are not uncommon on here). If you ever make it out to Vegas...make sure you bet with your head and not your heart.

If I were good enough to play at FSU, to begin with, I think I would want to make hay while the sun shines on the end of my college career. On a rebuilding team that may not be the most attractive option. Especially rebuilding from this level.

As for QB's, yes - we do have QB's on our roster. Moreover, according to this board's highly scientific poll, apparently the QB of choice is some person named 'other'. ‘Other’ may not have played in the spring game, so I am assuming that is just a variation on the spelling for 'Trickett'. Now if I am the coach, would I want a maybe guy for one year, or do I develop the other guy who is going to be here for my tenure? As Trickett does not have to sit out for a year, does he jump to the starting position? Is South Florida in a ‘all the help we can get’ mode when it comes to short term benefits?

Oh, WVU has quarterbacks, I realize that, and their program is, being polite, just a few notches up the old totem pole of success from where 3-9 rebuilding South Florida is, given that their stellar QB is slated for a first round gig in the NFL. Now there’s someone to replace! We could also rack up some serious numbers by playing less-than-top-tier competition as well, which, if you think about, is what we should be doing henceforth.

As this is our last year (2013 season) to use the Automatic Qualifier for a BCS bowl, do you really think USF is going to win it’s conference this year and go onto a BCS bowl – with or without this transfer? I don’t see it happening…3-9 to conference champions?  I believe there’s too much rebuilding to be done, but he might be an asset.  I’d just be surprised if he shows up, given a head-to-head comparison to the WVU program.

I wouldn't look for WVU to be anywhere near a BCS bowl caliber team this year and possibly not even a bowl team this year.

They tanked badly this past year and that was after an awesome start with the possible first pick in the draft at qb.

Take a look at their roster. They will be very young.

It is going to be up to what is really in Trickett's heart as to where he wants to go. With Davis, Price and Montgomery and if Dunkley comes back, he has some pretty good weapons that may allow him to put up some good numbers against lesser competition than he would face in Big12. Other than competition level and better conference, I don't see one situation better than the other for him

So to sum it all up: We are gonna be pathetic and why would a non-talent like CT want to come here anyway.

WV is missing a QB.

What do you mean by "missing a QB", they have 4(3 former 3 stars) scholarship QB's on their roster, we have 2.

My gut feeling is that he goes to WVU ... Holgorsen's offense did wonders for Geno Smith, who I'm not certain will be a successful QB in the NFL.  I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see him being a Bull.  I'll certainly celebrate the gross inaccuracy of my gut feelings if he ends up in Tampa, though.

I think at this point though, he certainly has more WR weapons at USF than he does at WVU now they are losing Tavon Austin and Stedman Bailey.  That's a plus in our favor.

And of our two, one is a former walk-on and the other can't handle a snap. If Trickett picks WVU, it won't be because our depth ran him off.

I voted "other" in favor of Trenton Williams, who has largely been ignored on this board, but whom I think is actually the best QB we have.

I'm not known for being particularly bullish on the bulls' chances year to year. But I think the defense is actually still set to be pretty stout, and the offense has some weapons that I really like in Andre Davis, Davario Montgomery, Sean Price and Deonte Welch. Those guys would be twisting in the wind with Matt Floyd or Bobby Eveld throwing the football. Clint Trickett could make it all work.

If I were them I would be selling him as hard as possible. I don't think the Bulls go 6-6 with Trickett at the helm. I think they go much better than that.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
