I don't think there's anything fishy about DeMyer. To me it just sounds like C. Florida was a little butthurt that they got bumped for us...then got over it really fast when they realized they still wanted him and he didn't commit to us on the spot Monday.

Or maybe we didn't offer???

That could also be true.

Fickle maybe, but I think they merely bounced him form a OV to unoffficial. Saving an OV.

If UF/LSU passed for the nations #2 FB...makes you wonder. Maybe time will tell.

You have to realize that's no 2 out a total of 5.

@gregauman: Lake Gibson FB Kennard Swanson will take "a few days" to decide now between USF & UCF, coach Keith DeMyer said. Visited both this week.

Guess we did offer.

All other things being equal and trying to be as unbiased as possible, I really can't see why a running back would choose UCF over USF given that we now run basically the same offensive system.

Well, if we're not wanting to show any bias, why here rather than over there? What's their fullback situation like compared to ours?

Because I think despite all the struggles we've have in the last couple years, we are still positioned (sligtly) better than UCF for medium- and long-term success. I suspect that he has the tools to start at either school given his offers (although who knows if he'll put it together).

Why are we positioned better than UCF?  We're in the same conference and they had the better team last year.  We have a first year coach (at this level) coming in.  They have more students and an OCS.  Still sounds biased.

Over the past 7 or 8 years, we have been objectively better than them all but one of those years. We've had far more national attention over that time. Think the first year coach thing is a wash given the local buzz Taggart has gotten and the fact that he had a top 10 RB last year. Not saying reasonable people can't disagree, but still fail to see why UCF would be a better pick.

I don't think UCF would be a better pick.... I just don;t think anything stands out that much more for either school over the other that would sway an unbiased opinion ...  Heck, UCF can point to the SB winners that had a Kaniggit playing fullback for them.

Who have we played and beaten that falls under the title "cream" of the Big 12? ACC? and B1G? I guess you could say Miami and FSU for the ACC, but they haven't exactly been running up titles in that league the past 5-7 years. As for the Big 12, Kansas?

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
