OK hem, I found the page, it was the 2011 Media Day they were asking each player, at the end of their interview, what city do they like to visit. Cincy, WVU were mentioned. I didn't go through all of them, you can't fast forward. I stopped at the Rutgers interview with Joe Martinek who said he liked natural grass and the NFL stadiums and doesn't mind the heat so he likes Tampa the best. The hosts chuckle and say, "for some reason, I think Tampa is going to win this competition". Note that I think some of the interviews are missing.

The Pitt and Cincy players in the interviews posted said WVU. The Cincy guy said for the atmosphere and the Pitt player because of their history. The UConn player said Cincy. Rutgers player said USF, but there was more than one who said it. Go through the rest of the interviews if you really want to know. And like I said I thought there were more interviewed, notice there is no UL player interview up.

IMHO...the Bulls will never play a game in an OCS located on the current USF campus.

The school leadership is definitely planning ahead for an OCS. This has been known for some time now. However, recruiting the significant sum to build it remains the greatest obstacle, keeping in mind that priorities also exist in tending to the many financial needs of a large, growing research university.

Mine too. If the Bucs were playing in their old stadium, that would change my opinion. Its a lot of money. Its a bad economy. And Tampa is like Atlanta, not a great sports town for whatever reason. Perhaps its because of the high number of transplants in both areas who support other, outside the area, teams from their home towns.

The whole NFL stadium thing neither hurts or helps us all that great. The recruits who are usually so wowed by the idea of playing at RJS that they come to USF are usually choosing between us and FIU, or Troy State.

People seem to want an OCS to give more of a college feel to games when what really needs to be done is relocate the campus to somewhere like Arcadia. That seems to be what people long for that insist on an OCS, a small college town feel at football games. I don't think I felt that at GA Tech. First is the parking, and the hope you had your hub caps when you left and then there are the sky scrapers all around the stadium.

Shoot. Go dome if you are going to do it. Maybe the Vikings can send their old one down on a barge.

Given my druthers. this is what I'druther have

Use it for many events, in all weather. Plus, it becomes a massive hurricane shelter.

Among the greatest positive aspects to having an OCS is the ability to bring alumni and the community on to the campus. How many football-only USF fans have been on campus in the past 5 years? I doubt you'll recognize it, because I graduated in 2005 and I barely do. Creating and maintaining that connection to campus promotes alumni involvement in ways that nothing else can or will. This is why USF WILL have an OCS within a few decades. I plan to donate the $300 mil if nobody else gets there first.

A 50K FAU style stadium could probably be had for 100M.  Basically FAU's stadium on steriods.  Theirs is way to small, but it could be supersized.  They have chairbacks!

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
