There is a reason why FSU passed over Hudson, just like how FSU passed over BJD... we need to stop settling for sloppy seconds.

So I am sure you have doubled your donation?

Greg Hudson

1994-1996 UCONN (OL)

1997-2000 Cincinnati (LB)

2001-2004 Minnesota (LB)

2005-2009 East Carolina (DC)

2010-present Florida State (LB)

He played college football at Notre Dame, where he was a two year starter at linebacker.

This guy has ties to Holtz. No thanks.

The bold text quoted makes you an idiot.

Kevin Steele was mentioned as well (Prior DC for Clemson who was fired/resigned after the WVU-Clemson bowl game massacre)

Wasn't Hudson The DC for Holtz at ECU and their D was good...whipped VT and held WVU to 3 points....during Pat White era

unfortunately the Hudson hype really does boil down to a couple games. statistically those defenses gave up a lot of yards, Hudson only had one top 50 defense in total defense. they were a little better in scoring defense but still never inside the top 30. some of those defenses were even ranked in the 80's and 90's

they were pretty good at creating turnovers which would certainly be welcome but Hudson wouldn't be my next choice

Probably going to take crap for this, BUT....

I know nothing about WT, and PURELY at face value, so far all I can see is that we hired another coach, who was highly recommended by others, who has not succeeded as a HC at the BCS level, and turned around a non-BCS team. I see less of the good-ole-boy syndrome, and I'm not this guys judge or jury...

That being said, I'm not on his bus, just yet.... I'm firmly on the Universities ground looking at the bus and curious who he puts on it. I hope, really hope, he succeeds, but I'm not jumping on board another Doug hire. Dungy vetting him has given me some hope, but I want to see the staff and the product on the field before I'm on the WT bus...

For me, the DC hire will tell me a lot

Hector Jimenez â€@USF96

@gregauman any word on DC timetable or list of candidates? Thanks

@USF96 Nothing official, but was told today it's likely to be Thursday or later before we have news of rest of Willie Taggart's USF staff.

11:49 AM - 29 Dec 12 ·

So, my guess is that they knew Shannon wasn't coming.

Which bowl game, if any, should we watch to see our DC in action?

Wonder if Tresey would come back? I thought he did a pretty good job in his one year stint here, and he was pretty good at Cincy before that. I wonder what kind of recruiting relationships he made during his time here?

I agree with some of your opinions. Something that makes me more hopeful, is CWT seems to be a blend of CJL, and CSH. Not as crazy as CJL, and not as docile as CSH.

While he was here the board were lit up with the fans wanting him fired.

So? We've already seen a fire Willie Taggart thread on here too. What's your point?
