Is this normal procedure? Is this really a problem?

I think I just answered my own question.

It's supposed to be normal procedure. it was a bit of a faux pas on Woolard's part, but in this day in age I'm not surprised. No reason to get the rumors any hotter than to tell everyone in the worlrd you might be interested in a guy. I'm sure the WKU AD will be informed if the talks Taggart had with USF grow some legs.

Steven Godfrey from SB Nation is saying that Taggart has interviewed at USF and Wisconsin. He also previously interviewed for the Arkansas position. Says he'd take USF if offered.

We have offended and damaged WKU. The only right thing to do is send them Chris Cosh as compensation.

You asked the question and I answered it. It's not McMurphy stirring the pot. It's DW allegedly committing mildly poor etiquette in a field with no ethics. It's not a big deal. I also wouldn't be surprised if the WKU AD were flat out lying about it either b/c apparently that was Taggart's second of three interviews.

He wasn't adamant. From talking to the administration, he was pretty well convinced they would keep Holtz and force him to shake up the staff. He never said that Holtz would definitely be back.

That seemed to change over the last week or two. Someone "reported" that Holtz had meetings with administration during the week of the Pitt game and they disagreed on direction. I believe that Holtz would not roll over on some of his assistants. So the administration would have kept him if staying was more important to him that loyalty.
