I've heard Taggart runs what is called a "Power Coast" offense.

Whatever it is, I'm a big fan of being able to pound teams in the mouth. So many teams run the spread these days-want to know which teams tend to win conference championships? It isn't the teams with a spread offense.

That said, let's not assume that Taggart's going to be bringing the same offense to Tampa. He's capable of adjusting to our players, or at least I'd like to believe so. He will do what's best for our team.

I agree in the first year or two I wonder if he would be able to fully implement his offense and should adapt to his teams talent and skill set. However, he has a system and we should not be hiring a coach to change what has brought them success. If coach and his system weren't right for this school we shouldn't be hiring them.

Also Im not buying this issue VD5 and others have raised about Florida kids not being the right fit for a power run game. He brought 30 FL kids to WKU and ran his system with success. A good coach will make it work. This is why is was so difficult to maintain any faith in CSH. He wasn't making it work with his talent (good or bad) and the story that we had to wait for his recruits to move into prominent roles on the team was proving to be BS. He had already lost the team.

God knows our current "system" wasn't right. Skips "field goal to death" system was not working...no idea why. Let's hope Coach T rolls out this new system and gets us running north/south again with some flats passes to keep em honest.

I hope he can adapt on offense!

Not just to the existing players, but mid-game based on what's working and what's not. Something we haven't seen much of around here...

7 of the last 8 big east championship winners were basically a spread offense. The only one not being a spread was uconn and they didnt fare very well in the bowl game..where they got beat by oklahoma..who runs alot of types of offense primarily the spread.

Under Holtz we were NEVER a "spread" offense but an offense that used MULTIPLE personnel packages...I-Form...Pistol...single back...shotgun...we had no specific identity on offense at all...and by the way WINNING IS NEVER BORING
