Tulane to join Big East

Tulane has no following, that is LSU country.

Not pleased with them as a addition, but what can the BE do?

Maybe the following will grow with them in a "better" conference? At least in basketball it will be better for them.

The average turnstile for tulane home games going back to 2008 is 5,800 per game. It's even worse when just looking more recently.

Tulane is regarded by LA residents as the rich kids school and for those that couldn't handle a large public University. Similar to how most Tampa residents feel about UT.

That doesn't necessarily make or break a program. Miami is very similar yet a world of difference in athletic programs.

It seems TV market is a key driver behind these moves but does it matter if no one is interested in the school's teams? Take Temple for example, they reside in the 4th largest TV market but have only 4,600 students and Philly has a plethora of other big league sports teams. How do they add value?

Exactly, teams in small places like: Athens,Ga, Gainesville Fl., College Station Tx., Stillwater OK, seem to draw in a bigger viewing audience than a Tample or Tulane would in a big market...in big cities college sports seem to get overlooked.

Those teams have a history of success... the teams we are choosing from don't. Grab a team from a small market with no history of success or grab one in a big market with no history of success? You grab the one in a big market with no history of success based on potential... Southern Miss winning Conference USA and being ranked one or two times in the last 10 years is not a history of success... BSU has a history of success and that is why we added them although they are in a small market.
