Georgetown Women's BB hasn't been anywhere near as successful as their men's program. In 2009 they made it to the fourth round of the WNIT....USF Women were the CHAMPIONS!

I seriously doubt the Lady Hoyas have put a single player in the NBA!!

Where did she mention the success of the women's program as a reason for choosing there? Since you fixated on the NBA thing, and ignored what else she said, we'll try it again ...

Freedom senior Faith Woodard, the Tampa Tribune's two-time Female Athlete of the Year and an all-Hillsborough County performer in basketball and track and field, made a verbal commitment to Georgetown University following her visit to the historic school this weekend in Washington, D.C.

Woodard made the commitment to the Hoyas' basketball program, a member of the Big East Conference, after experiencing the school's Midnight Madness session Friday night. She said her decision was strongly influenced by the school's academic tradition and location, as well as the reputation of a basketball program that has produced many NBA players. Founded in 1789, Georgetown is the oldest Jesuit and Catholic university in the United States.

''I knew Georgetown was a great school and a great opportunity but coming up here and seeing the campus just solidified everything I thought,'' Woodard said. ''I knew it was Georgetown and USF and it was a really, really tough decision but it came down to Georgetown and the education I can get here.

Can't front on Faith Woodard for choosing Georgetown, as that's what she felt was best for her.

Why would you bring up what you did if it wasn't relevant to the conversation? What made you think anyone would care about Georgetown's WBB success compared to ours?

I think it's safe to assume that exactly the same number of former Georgetown women's basketball players and former USF women's basketball players have played in the NBA.

Sorry to step in, but mviusa is just ignorant here. He cites what Georgetown did in the 2009 Women's NIT, but neglects to mention the last three years: 26-7, 24-11, 23-9 -- three trips to NCAA Tournament, including Sweet 16 in 2011. The Hoyas have been a top 25 team the last five times USF played them -- including an upset win for the Bulls in 2011 in Tampa.

Absolutely, it would have been huge for USF to keep Faith Woodard at home, but Georgetown has been one of the Big East's best women's basketball programs in the last three years, so it's not a shock to lose a top recruit to the Hoyas.

Thanks, Greg, I really didn't need to read anything after this point to agree with you, but that's some good information you gave there.

Inquiring minds want to know ........ but I doubt we get an answer.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
