SO he is just above head coaches at Louisville, Cincinnati, Tennessee, West Virginia, Clemson.... Not sure I can say that our AD has done a good job managing the "fragile" funds of our athletic program. I can't see a coach w/ in 20 spots save possibly Joker Philips*, I wouldn't want to trade him for.

* Nothing against Joker, they are probably about equal in coaching abilities. But as embarrassing as it is to have a coach named Skip, Joker is worse!

I'm guessing if he's fired they don't have to pay the whole balance, but some amount specified in the contract. If an actual figure has been reported publicly, I haven't seen it.

tell that to the Bucs who just recently stopped having to pay Gruden

point is-- while we might not be on the hook for the entire 10Million or whatever it is--- it will be a sizable chunk of change in addition to paying the new coach. USF is nowhere near as flush as some like to believe around here.

the bucs invested 2 1st rd, 2 2nd rd picks and nearly $30 million in Gruden. They were desperate as **** and did anything they could to get him. Not a good example. Holtz buyout from USF is more than likely a fraction of his annual salary for whatever the remaining years are on his contract and probably has stipulations on negative performance. There is enough cash in the USF bank account to cover it but they don't have the balls to do it.
