We've been over this 100 times. Nova and Georgetown are small private schools who cannot charge 45,000 students $10+ a credit hour to build a football program like we did.

The Big East contends ND must pay $5 million and give 27 months notice

Nope they only charge $40,000 tuition for their 5,000 students

and I cannot blame them for not sudden;y adapting their athletic program simply to fit the rapidly changing face of college football. If we press them, they would probably just jump to the Atlantic 10 or some other league in all sports but hoops==- which they could easily just go independent in without too much of a problem. That makes the BE much weaker losing teams like that then pushing them to become a football school as well

Now that the ACC has opened the door to non-football members, it wouldn't surprise me if they cherry-pick the desirable BBall schools (G'Town, SJU, Nova) and take away the Garden for the tournament. . . leaving us with the likes of Providence and Seton Hall to deal with.

Still, I'm not really sure what the ACC is going for in the big picture by adding ND. That split model didn't exactly work wonders for the BigEast. Then again, adding BC didn't make much geographical sense, until they added Pitt and Syracuse to bridge the gap. But at 15 BBall schools, it might limit their expansion options for another all-sport member since it would give them an unbalanced number for FBall.

I still find it interesting how the BE sucks so bad, and other conferences want this weeks top teams.

they're doing whatever ESPN tells them to do.

We used to be just as bad as NOva and Georgetown not long ago

Do you seriously believe what you write?

For real, we were never as good as Nova in 1AA

On a side note, this would leave 17 schools for BigEast BBall. Maybe we add Saint Louis and give Memphis a travel partner for Olympic sports and mirror game rival: USF/UCF, SMU/Hou, SLU/Mem, Marq/DeP, UC/UL, Temp/Nova, Rutg/SHU, GTown/SJU, UConn/PC. Getting to see Billiken Volleyball might be worth it alone!

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
