ND has been working on this deal with ACC and Big 12 for a while. The five ACC games will be split beyween NBC and ESPN, so expect NBC to pay around $25mil and ESPN around $15and mil.

The new $50 mil buyout was a suprise and needed Pitt and Cuse votes. When does that date start, we will find out soon BUT FSU might still swing $50 mil buyout. Rumor is UL proposed to pay FSU $20and million buyout with theirs if it was UL and FSU. Also rumor Big 12 $60would mil put back for expansion.

So its down to UL and FSU, unless ESPN and Big 121212 agree that USF and UL come but Big 1212 wants another ~20% for contract. Big 1212 would also not gift either team with buyout money like TCU and WVU, and would require the scheduled TV payoits. (50%,67%,85%,100% so 4 years )

So if its UL and FSU to Big 12, Uconn replaces FSU

If its UL, Usf to Big 12, then Uconn, RU, and GT to ACC to even out bball to 18

I still don't understand where you come up with your insane math.

NBC will not pay $25M more. you see ND isn't playing 5 more games. they are just replacing 5 opponents. they will still have the same number of home games.

again acc teams will still have the same number of home games. just different opponents. why would ESPN pay them $15M more?

$50M buyout pretty much puts your fsu and clemson move to rest. you were so sure of that before.

The $50 million buyout signifies that the FSU and/or Clemson move had some actual legs behind it.

I don't think that was ever in doubt, considering all that's gone on in the last year or two.

Think about this... what if ND gets in the playoff's and no ACC team does? How pissed will the current members be then? I don't see this being a good deal for ACC except for attendance for home games when ND comes to town...

nah if there was mutual interest then it would have happened. it was all pie in the sky internet rumors. look who he claims as his source.

if fsu and clemson wanted to leave they would not have agreed to buyout. if big 12 wanted them they would have invited them before it was agreed to.

Did they have to have unanimous agreement to the buyout among all ACC members?

the only thing i see is that the presidents voted unanimously according to acc website. whether or not they had a separate vote i don't know.

I would think it would have to be unanimous though otherwise any conference could trap members by getting a fraction to agree to some insane deal.

My math is NBC will be paying ND $25 mil a year for the tv rights of ND in its current form with a new agreement. ESPN will be paying ND $15 mill a year for those 2-3 tlevised football games that will be home ACC games and all three tiers of bball and other sports. Therefore their tv contract will be $40in mil a year total.

The Big 12 was working for FSU, Clem, and ND (as 12.5 just like this ACC deal), Clem took their selves out of talk, and ND just chose ACC.

Do I think realignment is done, no it will be soon if BE signs with NBC with a GOR, which UL will never agree too.

How bad (how much $ ) does ESPN want to kill BE off is when its done.
