While i agree that the playcalling was very vanilla last year, i dont think this is game is a good example of how the games will be called in the future. Why would we show nevada/rutgers anything for them to prepare for? Im not saying we wont be very vanilla the rest of the year but im hoping it changes and waiting until rutgers to see a huge difference

DEL- that was a FCS defensive line that has BCS talent on it. Derrick Lott was a 4 star recruit who went to Georgia out of high school and was the MVP of their spring game this year before leaving the school and going to FCS school so he didn't have to sit out a year.

There were many deep pass plays called were BJ was running for his life and/or the pass fell incomplete. The TD Chatanooga scored was off of an interception from a pass well downfield. The playcalling was not conservative, the offense was unable to execute.

we had 31 carries for 85 yards. BJ averaged 7.4 yards per attempt. BJ was sacked twice. that's not aggressive play calling.

There were at least three passes thrown 25+ yards downfield that were incomplete. If some of those are complete it's a different story.

The starters in had absolutley nothing to do with Skip. It had to do with the horendously horrible play by the Oline. BJ was running for his life all game. If the Oline doesnt get batter fast this will be a long ass year

how we dont have a great oline at this point is shocking

Actually, it's been pretty impressive the last two years. But Freshmen don't make an immediate impact on the OLine very often.

it wasn't the outcome of the game that bothered me. it was the fact that holtz doesn't go for the throat and that Fitch has no creativity. Those are recurring problems. That's their nature. it's why we lost so many close games in the 4th quarter last year.

the object on offense is to score on every possession. we seem to get leads on teams and then sit on them. we averaged less than 3 ypc and ran it 31 times. we barely had 300 yards of total offense.
