can you show me an example of any other head coach who gets a promotion to a bigger program that doesn't bring along his assistant coaches from his old job??

i wish more of our fans would pay attention to other college football programs but i think we are victims of being a young school in an NFL city.

Sadly, you miss the point. I'm saying, he'd probably have done better in C-USA without Fitchy riding his coattails. Now that he's in a big boy conference Fitch's weight is too much to carry even when we have a good DC like Synder. (I know that's not a popular observation, but TAMU apparently thought he was good and we loved him year 1.)

What has me concerned is these coaches evaluated #70 as a starter. I'm still waiting for him to block anybody.

How can anyone that understands football watch that game and not be concerned about the play of the Oline on pass blocking and the relative anemic running game (after the first series)?

Hell, that same year, we "struggled" against WKU (35-13) in their first year of FBS level football and managed to beat FSU 2 weeks later. We didn't exactly kick Wofford's teeth in either when we won 40-7.

I agree Skip doesn't have the killer instinct, but them hanging around wasn't a result of that. Maybe of us being "vanilla" but sadly enough, I think what we saw is what we'll get. (Looked pretty similar to the calls last year.)

I don't see the problem with them going for the score at the end of the firs thalf; it was a great 2 minute drill test. Plus it showed that Skip has some balls...which is what the OP was claiming he didn't have.
