many other recruits (usually the ones we dont get) say that they wish USF had an OCS.

I'd be interested in seeing some quotes to that effect and who made them. I just see playing at RayJay as more of a deal maker than a deal breaker, especially early on in our development. It may not be as important now as it was then, although I hadn't seen those quotes slick posted before and found them pretty interesting. Bottom line, though, is I don't think the location of a stadium is anywhere near as important to recruits and looking conferences as it is to some fans ...

Databull and his upbeat positive views thanks....

We play in a great stadium already. Why do you take that as a negative?

Well maybe, if the OCS has a pirate ship. We are talking teenagers. Yeah, some may like an OCS, but I have yet to read about a recruit who didn't get the Ray Jay tour and not be impressed. It seems that SuperBull, held there, is a major turning point for many like Price and Bivins.

http://www2.tbo.com/...suit-ar-177584/

As far as playing at the home of the Bucs and the site of Super Bowl XLIII in 2009, Raymond James Stadium has been a huge recruiting tool for USF.

3-star WR Jeff Badet Excited to be a Bull

" I also love the stadium they play in, because I’m also a Buc’s fan and always dreamed of playing in there, so that was another big plus for me.â€

Sebring LB Bullock is the Newest USF Commit!

“I really like the campus, the locker rooms, the facilities and love the stadium.†my family can easily come watch me play. That’s what sold me, that and the stadium.

Like Price, Bivins has been a mainstay on the 7-on-7 circuit and camp circuit. He ended up committing at the SuperBull camp put on by USF coaches at Raymond James Stadium. (Price) the facilities are awesome

1) Look who else is recruiting those guys. If I remember correctly Bullock was between us and Iowa State.

2) The stadium stands out. I wonder how many of those guys would have had a different decision without USF? Not many.

3) If the NFL stadium was that big a deal why are the schools that play in NFL stadiums not that great? And why have schools like playing in on campus dumps pulling common recruits from us?

I don't think it's as big of a deal as you think. It doesn't hurt, and is a selling point, but I don't believe for a minute that our recruiting would drop because of an on campus stadium. Will it do better? Not sure. No one does.

Iowa State is a Big 12 school Jack Trice Stadium aka The Jack.

WKU recruited him too and USF fans that visited our away game there said its a nice stadium.

Badet was offered by Louisville and BC. BC has an excellent OCS, my sister went for the recent BC FSU game. Same with Papa John stadium.

Bivins and Price are on the ESPN 150 and ESPN 300 lists so they have tons of offers.

Temple just moved from the CUSA to the Big East. Pitt moved from the Big East to the ACC and you must not know football if you don't know the history of Miami. I am not sure what schools in common dumps have pulled recruits from USF but players choose other schools because of things like being so low on the chart won't get a chance to play, location in relation to where their family lives, and *gasp academic programs offered.

I am going with fans want an OCS probably more than the recruits. And look at schools in other BCS conferences, say KSU. They are ranked and they haven't had any 4 star recruits for years. They have an OCS named after their coach, Snyder and recruit in nearby Okl and Texas yet only attract 2 and some 3 star recruits.

I don't think you get what I'm saying.

"I don't believe for one minute that our recruiting would suffer if we moved to an on campus stadium"

I've been at the game for almost 6 years now. It's a nice perk, it helps in some cases, I'm sure it hurts in some rare instances, but it's not a deal breaker.

Again, if an NFL stadium was that great of a sell, why do the schools that play in NFL stadiums all have very little success (us included) when it comes to raking in the talent?

Don't, just re-read your sentence if you had said that I would not have said what I did.

I do think Raymond James is a great stadium, however it has Bucs all over it and as a branding product it sucks for USF. As a playing field for the fans and a player it is great. Tampabay Sports Authority sucks for USF. The Glazzers suck for USF.

They sell beer on campus and at the Sun Dome. (Not sure on the new baseball/softball/soccer arenas, but they used to.)

There is no way they won't sell beer at an OCS

http://www.campusdis...oodBeverage.htm

Not true.... OCS' apparently have different rules... In the case of UF and UCF you can get beer at their basketball areans and baseball stadiums... but not football. FSU doesn't apply because their basketball arena is off campus but you can get beer at their baseball stadium.

Let me rephrase that... the general seating at the football stadiums cannot purchase beer inside the stadium... Club level seats and suite's have access to beer and limited liquor at UF, FSU, UCF, FAU and FIU. I see no reason why an OCS stadium at USF would be any different.

I don't think we're saying it's that great of a sell, but mainly that it doesn't really matter all that much one way or the other, in the overall scheme of things, where the stadium is .... and even more importantly, looking at the current landscape of college football, playing in an NFL stadium isn't a determent to a conference move.

No question the game day environment would get better....

Right now, it's no different than going to an nfl game

Agreed. I don't think it's going to change recruiting all that much if we move to campus. The original poster does.

That's all.

Why does it have to be a tin can? Why cant we start with something in between RJS and Brighthouse?

If you call Judy Genshaft's office and tell her you are ready to write the $100mil check, they'll start building your dream stadium before the year is out.

Just left a message. Left my contact name as "DataBull."

Im not saying they should do it right now. They have WAY more important things to worry about. Conference realignment, finishing the rest of the facilities we have already started, academic improvement, etc. Im just saying laying the groundwork is a good start. People will be more willing to donate if they see renderings and actual plans. I know that I donated what I could to the new SunDome renovations after I saw what the renderings would look like and what they planned on improving. I feel like others would feel the same way. This is several years out, but you can at least do some blueprinting right now.

Hell, just a sign on the planned future site of the stadium would bring excitement I think. Something that said "Home of the future USF Football Stadium(or whatever name)" Coming in 2020(or whatever year). Then include those renderings. I think that would get people excited and interested in our program. I honestly do.

As far as recruiting goes, I think a stadium on campus like Minnesota's would be waaaaay more attractive than RJS 12 miles away. Again though, that is just my opinion.

West Virginia just started selling beer at their stadium this past year. It is definitely possible for us to do the same. idk what regulations differ between WVA and FL though.

Would love to have what they have, but they were fortunate the state chipped in a huge amount of money.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
