Team Tampa led by QB Chase Litton won the National Championship for the second year in a row today at the IMG 7-on-7 National Championships. Congratulations to them.

Is he going to blow up like AW did? If he does I hope he finds USF is still the best place for him as other offers roll in.

This is a good sign. Can we get all of team Tampa to commit to USF?

He won't blow up because of a 7 on 7 tournament. I doubt college coaches put a whole lot of stock in it.

If he dials up a big senior year without vh3 then I think coaches will take much more notice than 7on7.

That said, I think he has some offers come in later. Hopefully he's committed.

He won't blow up like AW did after the Elite 11 but you can be sure many schools consider it another significant data point. Any time he can go out, throw, and look consistent doing so, it establishes a growth trajectory. That is going to be particularly important with a player like him because all it takes is eyeballing him for 30 seconds to see he has enormous physical potential, so the big question becomes all about consistency of accuracy and performance.

 

Football is all about competition and dedication. Practicing with Team Tampa, competing with Team Tampa, showing dedication to it over a period of time and then going out into a timed, competitive setting and putting on a show, are all important things. The more you see a guy do those things and come out on top, the better...because this is the essence of football.

 

As I recall, some schools got a lot more serious about Pete DiNovo last year once he went out with Team Tampa and won the National Championship at IMG. I believe that includes USF.

You know what's interesting to me is that Sean White was the QB of the South Florida Express Elite, the other team that was dominating the field and met Team Tampa in the Finals. They bested Team Tampa in the Regionals, and fittingly met Team Tampa in the Finals, and lost 25-24. White and Litton battled one another for final spots in the Elite 11 and White got a spot.

 

According to Big County Preps, Chase Litton only threw 1 interception in 9 games all weekend. Big boy pants.
