That's very strange...

at 12:47 we were #17, but by 1:29 we jumped to #15.

I even refreshed the screen to ensure it had this weekend's date. I'm guessing there were less trhan 33 rankings at 12:47 but I don't remember.

You might be mixing up things.

Massey puts together the comparison, but he also has his own set of rankings. One of them is "Massey BCS" which is one of the six official BCS computers.

At 12:47 the link had us at #17, that same link now has us at #15. Refreshed both times to make sure it was most current data. So, it was updated at least once after going live today.

Look, he will be adding maybe 50 more "comparison" polls throughout the week. So, it's not strange that more will come out today. The "15" is the average ranking of his comparison. It is NOT HIS OWN BCS RANKING, which is just one of the comparison polls. I don't know how to make myself any clearer. Perhaps, someone else can explain it to you better.

I KNOW it's not HIS poll. What I didn't know was how often it was updated. I had assumed he didn't publish it until all the data was collected - my bad. Even so, I think it's the best indicator I've found with all the info in one place. Anyway, I'll stop referring to it as "according to Massey" and refer to it as "according to Massey's compilation"

Yep.  We keep winning and we'll keep moving up.  We'll see teams in front of us fall as they play each other or play other tough conference games.  But we just need to keep our eyes on our schedule.

I also think if we can beat Pitt on Thursday it will be a big psychological lift for the team.  The real answers will be known a month from now.  If we're still undefeated after visiting UConn then we'll be getting ready for a final tough run to close out the season. 

And I'd be willing to wager that we'll be top seven in another month if we're still undefeated, depending on how things shake down in front of us.

You guys are tooooo funny !  How can anyone be over rated ?  You are rated and that is the end of the story.  Next week if you lose you will drop in the ratings but if you win you may move up or stay the same most times.  It is impossible to be over or under rated.  The guys that vote (or the computers) on ratings get their votes tallied up and bingo bango bungo - you now have a rating.  Just enjoy it.  And for those that say pre-season rankings don't matter - of course they do because it is tough, tough, tough to get into the top 10 if you were unrated starting the season.

If stars align and Bulls beat Pitt convincingly, our Bulls are definitely top 12 maybe even No. 10.  Need WI or NE to win convincingly too.  I hope that Team G&G is NOT over confident Thur nite.  A wounded Pitt with a 2 game losing streak will be very hungry for a W.
