That's very strange...

at 12:47 we were #17, but by 1:29 we jumped to #15.

I even refreshed the screen to ensure it had this weekend's date. I'm guessing there were less trhan 33 rankings at 12:47 but I don't remember.

At what point does this list stop changing and stay in place I wonder?

You might be mixing up things.

Massey puts together the comparison, but he also has his own set of rankings. One of them is "Massey BCS" which is one of the six official BCS computers.

At 12:47 the link had us at #17, that same link now has us at #15. Refreshed both times to make sure it was most current data. So, it was updated at least once after going live today.

Find it funny how we were ranked in the AP poll before ever being ranked in the Coach's poll, but now we are ranked higher in the Coach's than we are in the AP.

Plus, the Coach's poll is the one which counts towards the BCS standings.

FWIW, only ONE AP voter, Sam McKewon ranks ND (23rd). He ranked USF #14.

Look, he will be adding maybe 50 more "comparison" polls throughout the week. So, it's not strange that more will come out today. The "15" is the average ranking of his comparison. It is NOT HIS OWN BCS RANKING, which is just one of the comparison polls. I don't know how to make myself any clearer. Perhaps, someone else can explain it to you better.

Yeah, I realize that, but we have a long time before playing WVU. It's more important right now for ND to move up because we get credit for THEM.

The Massey comparison will keep changing throughout the week as more individual rankings are added.  Some don't come out until Monday or Tuesday and they are just added in to the formula when released.

If we win at Pitt, and I sure hope we do but expect it to be a real fight, then we should move up a few more spots as the undefeated teams lose.  This week we have 1 gone with Wisconsin/Nebraska, another with Bama/Florida, and another with VaTech/Clemson.  South Carolina could well lose vs Auburn, and Baylor/K State are also both undefeated.

We just have to keep winning and not let up.  We all know it is too easy to not be prepared mentally and then lose one that you should have done better with.

If you notice in Massey's comparison list, they haven't updated the AP poll to the latest week's result.  It still shows us at #18.
