Trip- I believe Skin said it. I'm on an iPhone- its hard enough to type on the darn thing.

If you use the Full Version on your phone, button down on the bottom of the page, you can quote like you can here .... at least it works for me on my iPhone 5 using Safari.

Data- it would be a big loss- I agree. Do you think he starts right away? I used to play a little 7-7 with my friends as well. I could tear it up and have a pretty big arm. When people start blitzing it's totally different. The best QB doesn't throw deep bombs- he reads the blitz and hits the check down. I'd love to have him, I think he has a crazy high ceiling. I am just confused why numerous people seem to think he solves our QB problems right away.

Obviously it depends on if he turns out to be the real deal.  But I think he would start here at some point in year one.  The thing about the Elite 11 is that they made it as complicated as possible and graded them on making the right reads as much or more than the physical talent.  The playbook was very large, and AW apparently excelled in the classroom and was able to carry it on to the field.  Sure, it's different when the bullets fly.  But Taggart's offense relies heavily on the QB being able to read the defense pre-snap.  This kid seems to have that skill.

That's a fair analysis. I know I'm getting soft in my old age, but wtf can you do?

he sure is good at tweeting about his ever increasing attention from more and more prestigious colleges. he parlayed a double dodecasecret usf commitment into visits to nc state and kentucky and now has attention of clemson and ucla of all places.

regardless of his pro/con on the field, he definitely could get a playbook down and that alone with the ability to read defenses can go farther than a quarterback with a boatload of talent. knowing more plays to check into when seeing the defensive lineup is really what it's all about - agree with databull's post above.

not comparing the two, but for instance andrew luck isn't the deep ball bombing guy, but he can hit the checkdown or the safety throw to a crossing tight end. it's not about hitting the guy for 40 yards all the time, it's about hitting the guy who is going to get you 6-8 yards on the catch and perhaps 3-5 after the catch, and that moves the chains, esp on 3rd down. luck using harbaugh's playbook went very well because he did the critical points. the deep throw is the easiest play in the book. luck even had the speed and mobility, which woulard also has, so the potential factor people bring up is definitely there.

Does anyone really think that his commit to USF allowed him to generate interest in Clemson, Kentucky and UCLA that would not have been there without his commitment to USF?   This has been stated numerous times on here and it is a very puzzling statement to me.

I can't imagine UCLA looks at the USF commit list to decide who to offer.  Do people really not believe that this is one of the top high school QBs in this class?

It's puzzling to me as well. He's def one of the best QB's in this class. All the negativity came when he shafted us twice, that's the only reason I can think of as to why most here are so bitter.

I can understand bitter.  I can't understand why people think AW has been using his USF offer to get other offers.

Other kids use SEC offers to convince USF to look at them, not the other way around.

Yeah, but we are pretty sure UK does at this point.

I'm not saying I think bitter is rational.  On a relative scale, however, it is more rational than UCLA following Holtz verbal commits and saying "He just committed to USF, get that kid on the phone!"
