You are totally right! He is ready to start immediately against college competition because he was sooo successful in high school. He won a tournament with no pass rush. The next time USF plays a 7-7 tourney with no O or D line, we are set!

Last year, USF played a season without an O line.

I agree my hat is off to BJ Daniels...He had guts  and strength of character......My wife just shuddered watching our offensive line. This is the QB that directed our win against FS and last year  we know what happened.

 

It was the coaching that let us down.. Its just a shame that he did not have an oportunity to play for Taggart.

There were at least 5 different O line configurations due to injury. It certainly wasn't all coaching when it came to the O line.

Fully agree.  I would like to add  injuries happen. The lack of depth at positions are all part of the problem and this I attribute mostly to recruiting.

Yep. If you could only force players to sign. Its not the NFL, you can't just go out when you lose 2 deep and sign free agents. It takes years to get some of these less skilled players ready. I think those who say Holtz didn't recruit don't think through the obstacles and issues involved.

 

Oh and I'd like to add, Leavitt had depth issues for years a many positions. He said a big issue is not having players in back up roles that could play at Big East level. And that continued with Holtz. I expect that CWT is going to do very good with recruiting but that it will continue until USF is more attractive to recruits and EVEN THEN it can be an issue. I just read that USC is starting a true freshman at QB next year and we all know the issues Notre Dame had at QB last year as well as South Carolina.

This kid has none of the issues Marve had either with the police or with his coaches. At least try to come up with something closer than Marve.
