Big East: No respect I tell ya, no respect at all

Philadelphia, PA — Much like the late, great Rodney Dangerfield would lament over the lack of love he received by virtually everyone he encountered, one of the six college football conferences that currently enjoy automatic-BCS qualifying status has been guilty of harping on the same. Actually, it's the fans that follow the teams that call it home who are the ones that bemoan the fact year after year. Of course we're referring to the Big East, and truth be told, it really shouldn't shock anyone that the league known more for its basketball prowess than gridiron glory has a ways to go before being regarded with the same reverence others around the country have.

Good points in that article.

However, I have feeling we will have the opportunity to make some headlines in the next few years. And USF support outside of Tampa is growing.  I have definitely noticed the number of USF tags and stickers growing up here in the Panhandle.

If you tell a lie long enough and be very loud about it people will start to believe it regardless of how much of a lie it is.  The truth is the ACC has been bad in BCS games and bowl games in general, but no one brings it up, so they get a pass.  How come no one calls Oklahoma choke artists?  I've never seen a team get into more BCS bowl games and choke time and time again with some ugly losses, yet they get a pass.  It's all about perception and lying to people that builds the image that remains in the mind of people.
