recruiting has little to do with it.

coaching would be more of a factor. schiano isn't too bad at developing guys like mike teel, ray rice, even though they were good recruits, it still takes a coach to help them reach their potential.

leavitt put out a couple good guys, but he wasn't the best developmental coach - he let the guys rely more on their raw talents.

and going to nfl is still a dice-roll, even for a top draft pick, just as it's a "who knows if they'll be any good" for when a kid comes out of high school.

recruiting is everything in college sports

Recruiting is about getting guys onto the college team.  Coaching + hard work + amazing football talent = NFL player.  Recruiting doesn't has little or nothing to do with players getting to the NFL.

someone new to fooball i see

talent wlll carry the day most of the time

you dont make it to nfl without taent

Someone new to reading, I see.  Other than the lazy guys part, not sure if you noticed, but you basically repeated what I said.  Talent only gets you so far, it takes good coaching and hard work as well.  If talent was the only consideration, there'd be a lot more guys in the NFL.

Actually, there'd be the same amount of guys in the NFl, there would just be different ones.

Point taken there, but what a 50+ year old attorney doesn't seem to understand is that it's hard to get into the NFL.  As the NCAA says, paraphrased, is that most will be going pro in something other than sports.

You're right, but you'd have more success arguing with your wall.
