Another Robert Mccullum casualty.  What a shame.  Kid was the real deal.  Try making your players feel as if they belong and are part of a family, Robert, instead of continuously alienating them.

If the kid was the real deal and really had a problem with CRM, he wouldn't be going to Mercer .....

ok, since you are making such a statement... back it up... how did he alienate him?

explain yourself, if you want to be taken seriously.

As I said before it sounds more like he was just homesick and wanted to get back there.

beastiebull - I have to call BS on this one.  Are you saying you know more about the situation than Waters did?  He stated in a newspaper article his departure had nothing to do with basketball or USF.

Back it up?  How about 15 or so players/coaches leaving in the past two years.  That's a heckuva turnover ratio.  If he were CEO of a company I would bet that that company would not be very successful, much like our hoops team under his (lack of) leadership.

A good coach makes his players feel as if they are "family".  Waters was about a 7 hr drive away from his family.  RMC, with his cold and calculating ways was unable to make a kid feel good about where he was.  If Montavious thought he could really gain something under RMC's tutelage he could have overcome being 6 hours away from his family.   (he's now playing about an hour away from where his family lives).  At first you all said that players were bailing out because they were Seth's recruits and couldn't handle the "discipline".  RMC is now failing to keep the players that HE recruited.

Montavious was a very respected hoops player up here in HS and a good kid.  Under proper guidance he would have stayed at USF and flourished.  You don't hear about kids getting "homesick" at programs with good coaches.

TripleB, you seem to doubt that he was the real deal...why did your boy then call him the future PG of this team?

Robert McCullum, learn how to step back away from your ego and nurture these kids.  Quit being so pigheaded.

Call BS and say I'm full of whatever, don't take me seriously et al  all you want.  More good times to come fellas.

I guess I phrased it wrong. I'll try again. Since Waters IS the real deal, why would he settle for Mercer  ...... unless his real reason for leaving WAS to be close to home.

Larry hated Kurt Benson. The fact that Bobby Knight recruited Larry heavily and then stopped talking to him when he got there also caused the change of heart. He was homesick as well, but it wasn't the #1 reason alone for him leaving. He went to IU because his father loved IU more than the world. It was those three things combined that chased Larry. This information is right from the source and his cousin.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
