Had seen simliiar sentiments elsewhere -- if you listen to Holtz, he's not a big fan of freshman QBs playing at all, and hopes to get the program to a point where that's not a necessity -- should be that way next year, even. Gunsby has shown promise, but that's still a far cry from the level of familiarity and consistency needed to unseat a starting quarterback.

Have you heard any timeframes forthe depth chart release

Raymond is a starter. I don't think his job is in question, other than where he'll line up. I think the receivers are starting to shake out, too -- Bogan and Landi are starters, and I think Lamar would be the third guy right now. Knowles and Virgin are probably next in line, with one of the smaller guys like Hopkins or Hornes probably next, unless Holtz makes the decision to put Welch out there this fall.

If Landi is the starting WR, when you watch him, does he look like a starter or is he a warm body holding a spot. I ask because I feel like sansWR and true solid RB, we may be relying on BJ to run, run and run some more much like we did with MG the first year he started. Any thoughts?

You have a good point.  Especially at RB.  In Grothe's first year as a starter he pretty much had to be the offense, at least pick up the slack running the ball because we did not have an experienced RB available for the first 5 or 6 games that year.  Pionton was suspended and we had no RBs with any experience that year.  If Plancher goes down we are in the same boat, but at least we have some experience with FBs. I beleive our current WR corp is probably pretty close to experience in what we had that year as well.  All were pretty young for the most part, although we had a couple oif guys with some experience that year.  plus Grothe was only a freshman that year.  Grothe lead in rushing by necessity.  Let's hope Daniels isn't forced to be out of necissity this year.

Hotlz taking this long with the depth chart can only mean that BJ has been move to DB, Victor Marc to 1st QB, and Lamar to 1st TE!!!  ;D Is anyone else getting this feeling?????

Seriously though, let's go Coach! Put out the depth chart already!
