Shhhh, you're going to destroy everyones optimism.  Worse is if you explain to them that Popek had actually been pushing to start at OT, and was a probable starter at OT at this point. 

Oh but don't worry Virgin can move there...he's played every other darn positin on this team.

If you want BJ to make it through a season alive then Eatmon and Kaufman will redshirt.  These guys are so far away from being ready it's not even funny.  Not a knock on anyone it's just always usually like that along the OL.

USF taking it slow with injured Sims

VERO BEACH – Senior RT Jacob Sims, who has started 19 games the past two seasons, is the most notable player yet to see the field in USF’s three practices here at the Vero Beach Sports Village.

Sims continues to battle concussion-like symptoms after getting injured early in camp.

“We’re being very cautious with that because of what he’s been through,’’ USF coach Skip Holtz said. “We’re not trying to rush him back into action.’’

Sims was limited by injuries late last season and has suffered a prior concussion.

In his place, reserve Damien Edwards and true freshman Quinterrius Eatmon have filled in capably. Eatmon, expected to be redshirted, came on strong Tuesday in USF’s first two-a-day of camp.

“He keeps getting better and better,’’ Holtz said.
