Hypothetical: 2009 Season Results

We finished 7 - 5 last season. In your opinion, if Holtz and his new assistants had been here last season, how would we have finished the season?

With a new coach, I suspect we'll have it this season I-Bull.  No problem.  :)

Come on, Brad.  Be realistic.  The guy has to get his system and players installed. 

Next year will be fine.  :)

My expectation is we start the season 1-0.  Stony Brook makes it 2-0.  We destroy Florida and that makes us 4-0, we trounce WKU by 3 and go to 5-0 and all the excitement starts.  But the good news is we'll be playing FAU and not a Big East team.

Seriously, though, too bad how this worked out.  But glad we didn't have to settle. 

We will progress over the next 5 years.

Progress must mean a Big East Championship to go along with the Top 25/Top 10 upsets and the instate wins.

As I said when Leavitt was axed - Holtz was probably the best fit and most attainable guy for us.  I hope he can do it.  It's just going to be a lot harder than C-USA and I hope he's the guy.  I think he is.  I just hope that we can keep the forward momentum.  Some thought we lost it, but they didn't understand the plan.  A lot of hillbillies jumped on board after 2007 and that was the beginning of the end.  Those of us around for the practice year have perspective that has benefitted us greatly.

I think I would have to agree with his "for sure" .  Odds are seriously stacked against us.  Unless the team planes for all of our competitors go down in an ice storm, unlikely we win the BE.  Not wishing that on anyone, btw, just using a "for example".
