FAN FEST DATE CHANGE EXPLANATION

Yes, I for one planned a weekend away for the 20-22 since that was open.  Crap.

I understand why they are doing it, and dont want the expense of bussing the team back up from Vero for one day, etc. but I dont like that they are doing it on this short of notice. The team comes first, but an event called USF Fan Fest seems its about the fans. Some people that have to plan out their work schedule in advance or family events etc had it set to be off on the 14th or be available during that time slot. I understand the last minute Vero stuff, but it'd be nice if they didnt move events geared towards thanking the fans and selling season tickets so close to the event.

Fans buy seasons tickets, and they aren't even considered when it comes to setting game times and dates.  They can be set or changed very close to game day, making it extremely difficult to book reservations for road games.  As they say cheet happens!!

It may be called Fan Fest, but that is just because it is open to the fans.

A lot more goes into planning it, and fans need to understand that.  For the betterment of the team, this one had to change.  And they had to coordinate with many, many, parties to get that to happen. 

IMHO, If a few fans cannot make it, not a big deal.  Do what is best for the team, and ensure you have all of the necessary parties there (media, staff, coaches, players, etc).  People will show up.

Personally, I hope there is less of a showing so the lines are shorter.

Wow, apparently some of you need to go back to school for reading comprehension. I said nothing about the team going to Vero, as a matter of fact I think that it's a great idea. The problem that I have and clearly stated in my previous post, is the fact that they waited to change the date, not that they changed it. Please see the BOLDED, COLORED, and RESIZED portion of my original post. ****, some of you are so quick to defend the program, that you don't read and entire flippin' post before arguing with it.

Personally, I think that the date change is BS. What were they waiting for? As soon as the idea about moving "training camp" came out, they should have moved Fan Fest right then. It makes no big deal to me, as I'll still be able to attend both, but I've got some friends that will be out of town that weekend. I just think that it could've been handled much better. Does this also mean that CSH will not be throwing out the first pitch at the Rays game?

I concur with BBM, and will add that those of us that can still make it should just look at the bright side, which is that the autograph lines at fan fest should be short now 

I should be able to get everything signed and then some in record time this year.
