This latest update from Greg's blog gives me a queasy feeling in my stomach.  Could be the garlic fries from the Rays game.  But sounds like if she doesn't get her pension USF will have the NCAA sniffing around somewhere down the road.  Just what we need.

From Greg's blog (link above)

"We've updated our main story on today's allegations from a fired academic adviser against USF's athletic department of racial discrimination and covering up NCAA violations, following Myrtice Landers' news conference this morning in Palm Harbor.

Landers has addressed some issues raised this morning -- she said athletic director Doug Woolard told her when USF changed associate athletic directors for academics that her "slate was wiped clean," which she took to mean that a previous "final warning" from Woolard that any transgressions could cost her her job was no longer in place. She's not going into any detail about what other NCAA violations may have taken place at USF, but her attorney -- and Jim Leavitt's -- says they'll be talking to the NCAA."

Rest easy Ricky, she's vested, so she won't lose her pension.

I read somewhere in the full article this morning about her only getting 50% or something like that.  Don't think she'll be happy about that.  If it is "always about the money", I'd feel better if she got her full pension, dropped the lawsuit and didn't talk to the NCAA.

Why should she get her full pension when she had repeated transgressions? If she also knows of other violations, then she should have said something beforehand.

She's only 52, she could find another job that's covered by the FRS and get her 30 years and be eligible for the full pension.

Sour Grapes, she made a mistake, not once but a couple of times.  If you made that mistake once, you would ask and make sure before you did something you had approval in writing first.

Can't believe this lady, she maybe nice, but that does not cut it.

What would have happened if the NCAA had found out?  Where would we be then?

I would hope the University was expecting something like this and is prepared for any resulting NCAA investigation. If not, you have to wonder about the athletic department administration.
