1 time is judgement.... 6 times is character...

Why is it so hard to follow the rules the rest of us live by?

yeah he likes to speed and he also wants to start a foundation in Ghana at the ripe old age of 19.

He has been the man of the house since he was 9 and helped care for 5 younger siblings.

We definitely don't need guys like this on our team all because of a misdemeanor.

terrible character. :-\

If a person is picked up by the police and arrested, that should be a fairly traumatic experience and a normal person would be driven to change their behaviors.   That he has been arrested twice for the same offense shows he is habitual.  It also shows that being arrested is no big deal to him.  If he does not straighten out right away, he is headed for even worse situations.  He needs to be punished by USF, not kicked off the team, but certainly a multi game suspension is in order.

he is a male traffic offender in his teens. Not exactly uncommon.

Incredibull, Did you ever get pulled over while you were in your teens - early tweenties?

I know i did. I was young and dumb. I definitely made my fair share of mistakes.

In fact I got quite a few tickets. It's actually biological for young male teens to drive aggressively.

From the little I have read on this kid, he has quite a good character. especially considering some of his circumstances.

I'm not saying he didn't do anything wrong but he will pay for it through the court system(it's a misdemeanor).

If you are charged with a misdemeanor will you be punished at work? I think not.

Yes, I got tickets in my youth. Yes I got tickets in my adulthood.  But an ARREST should wake a person up to change their behavior.  When one gets a ticket, it is merely a copy, and a 15 minute discussion, and then a piece of paper and a fine.  When you are arrested, you are taken away in a cop car, in cuffs, you go to jail, you are finger printed, pictures are taken, your personal effects are removed, and you are booked into jail.  You either have to spend the night and go before the judge, or be bailed out on bond.  This, for most normal people would be a big deal.  Certainly something you would not want to repeat.  This is not a youthful speeder with a ticket.  This is a situation where even after alll of the tickets, and an arrest, it happened again, in the same year.  This may be a misdemeanor, but it is a big deal.

Bull94 seems to come from a family where getting arrested multiple times is no big deal, if it's only for misdemeanors. :(    Different strokes for different folks!

I had 13 speeding tickets between the ages of 19-26 (license suspended once during that period). It happens... I'm a good driver... just had places to get to. Licensing laws need to be rewritten.

You're probably right--with that many tickets in that stretch, I'm thinking you should have lost your license more often and for longer.  :)

Goes along with the discipline Leavitt's teams had on the field. Imagine where the team would have finished with those almost 900 yards back in 2008. Restoring discipline should be one of Skip's top priorities.

South Florida Bulls

A little credit is due, the Bulls are improving as they committed twenty less penalties last season in comparison to 2008. The problem for South Florida is the fact they finished fourth in the nation two years ago with 111 flags for 882 yards. The 2009 season saw the Bulls fall to 27th nationally with 91 penalties for 749 yards. If the team can continue to decrease the amount of infractions they commit, look for them to improve on an 8-5 season from a year ago.

Not sure what Skip will or won't be able to do but I wouldn't count too heavily on improving the discipline very much. In that same time frame where Leavitt's team improved from 111 flags/882 yds to 91 flags/749 yds, Skip's team slid from 82 flags/742 yds to 101 flags/806 yds.
