At least most of the visitor section at the swamp is high up (so you've got a better chance of getting a breeze).

Even though heat rises, you won't be down in the pit of heat that accumulates from too many people wearing jorts.

FSU was a scorcher as well.

Yep, I watched the sun creep up the bleachers until it got to us, then I wept. Thank God for that one lone cloud that hung over us for 10 minutes. (The cloud actually got a round of applause in my section) It may have saved my life. ;)

lol.. I remembered that.. Everyone cheered once the shade hit.

And i think it misted for a couple of minutes to

Yes it did for all of 5 minutes. Then the little rain on the metal bleachers began to evaporate making the stadium like a sauna.

Enough already about it being hot in Gainesville for the game sitting in the stands;  has everyone turned into a weenie?  It's a football game that involves blood, sweat, hitting, running, and more sweat.  If anyone thinks it is uncomfortable sitting in the stands, think how uncomfortable it is playing on the field dressed in pads with a helmet in the heat getting chased by 280 lb. guys trying to turn your lights out.

The field is actually below ground level I've been on that field, it's probably 10 - 20 degrees hotter on the playing surface.

The game is in September (hurricane season)  so we could have rain that day.  Remember the home game against NC a couple years ago.  I think that was a noon game.

Figured that they would pencil us in for a nooner... like with FSU they are trying to limit the amount of incidents and figure less time to party with the Bulls = less trouble.

Yes, I'm sure that's what it is.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with tv.

In the past, Foley had been able to turn away noon JPSports kickoff times at the beginning of the season in favor of pay-per-view. UF has always preferred to have the first 2 games with 6pm kickoffs in that case.

But I'm thinking the new TV contracts pretty much prevent that from happening.

Our game vs Miami (OH) is going to be at noon on ESPN week 1 too.

I would expect a lot of jorts to be seen...

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
