There is no "Series" with UF. Either we beat them in September or we lose. Either way it is a one game series.

A home and home with WKU? Are you kidding?

If you have been around since the first season, then you'd know why we signed them for the 2009 and 2010 games.

and that is?

When we were beginning as a program and needed games WKU played us in our first four seasons (Georgia Southern was going to as well, but they dropped the final 2 games). When WKU moved up to 1 A they needed some games, so we helped them in the same manner that they helped us.

makes sense

your post contradicts itself by saying there is no series and then saying it is a one game series :D

i thought we signed up for 2 games, both at the swamp. no?

Yes. The general consensus is that one or both sides will want to cancel the second game for various reasons. The second game is currently scheduled for 2015.

Holtz said today he would rather play UF, Miami, or FSU than UCF.  But, he did not rule out UCF, just said, you have to play the best to be the best.

Playing USF is a lose-lose for UF.

In their minds we aren't in the same league and we should be happy they are paying us to beat us.  If we happened to beat them (I'm praying and I'll be in the stands yelling but not holding my breath) it would be devastating to UF's nation image and recruiting.  Beating them would basically kill any and all return games.

How much are they paying us to go up there?

and btw, if we beat them in one game it wouldn't change their recruiting a single bit.

I respectfully disagree. If we win, then we may pick up a kid or two that may have gone to uf. Do you think that Terrence Mitchell would've made the change had we bean smoked by FSU?

Nobody is going to refute the fact that playing the Big 3 is better than playing UCF.

I'm just saying that playing Stony-Brook, Western Kentucky, and Florida Atlantic are worse than playing UCF.

Next year we start a home and home with Ball state.  A home and home with UCF is a better option than Ball state.  Very few people are going to go to Indiana to watch us play the cardinals, there's even a chance the game wont make a TV line-up.  If we play UCF instead, we get a sell out at Ray-Jay and send 5k+ fans to Brigthouse stadium to watch it live (maybe as part of our series contract we can ask for a 10k allotment of seats in the tin can).  Instead we get around 45k at ray-jay for the home game with Ball State.

Yeah, I see what your saying.  And believe me, I think it would greatly improve our recruiting if we win.  But there are also more factors to where a recruit goes than just who beat who last year.  For instance, Mitchell is staying in his hometown now and will get a lot more immediate playing time than he would have at FSU.

I guess my thinking is if we get a 3 or 4 star recruit to switch from UF, he'll be replaced by another one pretty quick.  And it certainly won't be "devastating" to there recruiting.
