If we beat them, then printing up a commemorative shirt AFTER the fact is an excellent idea.

Printing up a "smack talk" shirt BEFORE the fact, for a team we've never played, is completely lame. Much as some of us might hate them, the Gators are NOT our rivals (yet!!!).

Now, printing smack-talking shirts for games against our arch-rival UCF on the other hand, is something that just makes sense.  >

Since we're using the Gators helmet design, it looks like we've licensed their logo as well. Wonder how much THAT cost?

I wouldn't read to much into the white helmet being on the shirt.  The guy that did the graphic design probably used it because the gold helmet and gold lettering would blend together too much and he wanted some contrast.

Last night, in a Freudian-caliber dream experience, the Ghost of T-Shirts Yet To Come paid me a visit and hipped me to the following. 

Game (and any other) USF t-shirts can be designed and legally produced by a number of organizations.  My understanding is that licensing is actually handled by an outside firm (as is the case for most universities), with USF Athletics (or whoever controls the particular image to be licensed) having final say over whether an image can be used for a given purpose.  But there is no central office or department that produces all t-shirts or designs.

Anyway, the moral of the story is that the second image above (the one people like) is being produced by the USF Alumni Association as an incentive for new members to join.  The first one (the child-like drawing) was I think (but not positive) the result of a contest by USF Athletics.  I kind of like it, but I don't think it's supposed to be an "official shirt of the University" anyway.
