Also call him Dr. Bullieve It since he can clearly tell when ligaments have been damaged just by seeing someone get loaded into an ambulance. Allegedly.  :

He'll be lucky to see the field by the second half of year, imo.  You don't just completely recover from this type of injury in 8 weeks.  I would not expect him back, and then if he is able to play a couple games, it's gravy.

I disagree. It depends on the severity of the break. I've broken both of my ankles twice. Different severity each time. If it's like my least sever break (six weeks cast time, 4 weeks rehab), I can see him back at full strength by the Syracuse game. The braces they have now-a-days are amazing, too. It's not your father's tape job, anymore.

Griffin Fractures Ankle During Morning Workouts

TAMPA -University of South Florida sophomore wide receiver Sterling Griffin suffered a fracture/dislocation of his right ankle Monday morning while participating in conditioning drills.

He was treated and released from University Community Hospital earlier today and will follow up with team physicians at USF tomorrow. Prognosis will be determined after further evaluation.

It seems Holtz doesn't need the opinion of USF team doctors to determine the prognosis.
