Talked to some football players while working here in the Marshall Center, they said that his ankle looked pretty nasty.. Not too good considering that we don't have much depth left in the way of  receivers..

If they said it looked nasty than it hopefully is just a broken ankle with no other ligament damage. I doubt it's just a sprain, when I broke my leg everyone that saw it said about the same thing those players told you and my ambulance wasn't precautionary. If it was just a bad sprain I'm guessing they would have found him some crutches and ice and wrapped it up while someone drove him to the hospital themselves.

A loss yes but devestating - no.  I liked Sterling alot and thought he wass going to be really good but Carlton Mitchel was our biggest loss at WR.  We have plenty of young guys to step up and lots of speed to go with them  Lamar;Fayson;Hopkins, etc take your pick. .  Times like these often end up making a new star.  Afterall, was the season over when Grothe went down last year ?

Fayson?? Do you know something we don't ? :P

Hey is it too late to switch over to the triple option?  :D

We have like 30 running backs.

I don't know, I tore the outside ligaments on my ankle wrestling.  It looked like crap, swelled immediately upon taking my boot off, to the point I could not put a snow boot on (lived in NJ), and was black and blue by the time we got to the hospital.

I was on crutches for 6 weeks, and walking, working out again after that.  It may not affect the season.

lets not jump the gun.  it could be a 6-8 week thing which would still give him time to be back before we played our first game (of course he would need a few weeks to get his game time speed back)

but out for the season is a little too earlier to be saying now.

lets hope it isnt that bad.  although sprained ankles have a way of not going anywhere...especially for a WR.

greg aumans tweet:

USF says receiver Sterling Griffin suffered a fractured/dislocated ankle in voluntary workout this morning.  Still no timetable for return.

well you know they say sometimes a "sprain can be worse than a break"

the dislocated part doesnt sound too good though.  could be some ligament damage

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
