didn't Louisville beat us by 30 last year?  something close to it, at home.  I remember that was embarassing.

Beastie,

That is a bunch of hogwash and you know it. USF would not get embarrassed by UNC this year. We have not been embarrased on the court in a long time going back to last season. We played UAB, MARQ, DEPAUL, SOUTH CAROLINA, MICHIGAN, CINCY, etc very respectable for what he have.

that was last year. was that in our last 10 games last year.

last season could be broken up in 3 segs

1. first 10 games full team, adjustments - decent

2. middle 10 games, chaos, defections - sucked

3. last 10 games reorganized, understaffed - resolved fighting hard night in night out

wildrover,

That was a much different team when we played UL. We wont lose like that again to UL this season. It takes time for players to learn how to play team baskeball. Coach McCullum's team is much more exciting to watch now because they play unselfish and never give up.

I hope your right, I guess we'll have to wait and see but losing to Miss Valley St doesn't bode well for our future come confernce play this year.  That being said, tonight was the first night all season that I saw a team on the court, not Leather and his cast.  Not that, that is a bad thing, whatever gets the job done but can you imagine the Michicgan game or SC game if TL played the way he did during those games and the rest of the team played the way they did tonight.  I'm encouraged by the fact that althought TL had an off night (I think most of his points came from the line, he was only like 3 for 11 from the field right?) the team still stepped up and guys made baskets.  Maybe its a sign they are coming together more and more as a team, I hope its enough to make it respectable come conference time.  I'm still sticking to my prediction of 10 wins and still really hope I'm wrong.

IMO, and not going against McCullum on this one, UNC is hands down the best team in the nation. Don't let a #5 ranking full ya... there is no answer for Everybody Loves Raymond (Felton) or Rashard (Head Case) McCants. When Oklahoma State plays them in the Final Four, the winner will be the National Champion. If you're going to judge VaTech, do it against FSU. A common opponent for FIU that plays both  USF and FSU.

I hope people realise that we played UL early last season. It was our first C-USA game when we went up against UL. It was not during our last ten games. USF later went on to get blown out by UAB also, but I dont think you guys can recall that. The point is that it has been a long time since USF got blown out. I think the last time we got blown out was against Memphis on the road last season if my memory calls correct. To me, that UL game seems like a long time ago because I as a fan have to put that debacle behind us. Remember, Baxter was acting up during and before that game which did not help team chemistry. I take from last season the team that played UAB, DEPAUL, CINCY, AND MARQUETTE tough. And Sheriff, I dont think UNC is the best team in the nation. They had a bad loss to some lowly team already. They may be a lot better since then, but that just goes with my theory that USF is much better since we played UL.

we already got embarrased this year by Mississippi Valley State.

And I believe we learned from that and that's why we beat FIU.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
